Well, being South African born, it's not an issue for me, but then when I was a kid, I could speak fluent Afrikaans
. Now I don't remember a word, and sound as English as the next man (unless the next man is Billy Bob Thornton). Of course, my parents are/were both British, and in fact I always sounded like a Brit, even when living in various parts of Africa.
