I thought only Spotify ignored Microsoft guidelines for where to place programs, but it seems we have another culprit.
Programs should be installed in program files ( or program files x86).
app data folders shoudl be used for config data only, as the name implies
The free cryproprevent utility will not allow programs to install and run from app data unless whitelisted, as that is where most ransomware installs to run its encrypt operations
