Hi. I am retiring at the end of Sept, and i have similar problems. After trying several chairs i have ordered a small recliner rocker from Lazyboy called 'impulse'. It's very firm, with lots of positions. Because it's a rocker, i can also push back without reclining, so there are several options to shift around and get comfortable.
I don't care for leather so am having it covered in a nice fabric. It's quite narrow so good for small spaces.
