It should not =/= does not. Unless you did check this (and using the device specified, no some other Kindle model on "same" firmware build) you should not claim a thing. Especially since you claims were wrong on more than one occasion!
Amazon tweaked god knows how many thing regarding renderer and *reader.* jar files for "enhanced typography" so it would not be that strange that an unofficial "feature" dies in process, just like when we had "USE_ALT_FONTS" and poof , no more.
Since for the first time I can't jailbreak my Kindle I don't have a choice to revert back to previous firmware if need, so I ask before installing new firmware to be 100% certain. Kindle without hyphens in sideloaded/converted books and without ability to change font size values and have absolute choice of fonts is useless to me. That is where I draw a line... I'm forced to have to embed fonts in every f-ing book and live with those default margins, but no more compromises are forthcoming.
