Hard telling. I suggest you just get a book with enhanced typesetting enabled (even if it doesn't show dropcaps yet in the books I read) and start reading. You won't really see what exactly is different, except it looks and reads nicer. After a while you get so used to it and makes you wonder: what is the big deal, reads just like before. But it doesn't - the much more even spacing between words and I suppose within words makes the whole page look more uniform. Like from a distance it is one shade of gray instead of weird whitespace patterns and lines. Ligatures and kerning you fly right over (at least I do) without giving them a second thought. Open an old book and the difference becomes apparent right away.
