Not an answer toy your question, but a gentle comment.

Drag and Drop is not always the solution; for instance, here at MobileRead, one doesn't drag and drop the smiley into the message like this https://www2.mobileread.com/i/smiliestext/thankyou.gif; rather one just clicks on the desired smiley, like so
