It would be /dev/mmcblk0. Also check /proc/partitions.

I don't know XCSoar so I have no clue what kind of modifications it makes. But anyone with a working Aura and telnet access could provide you with an image.

You might be able to repair it using only the files you find in a firmware update download. But it would be an experiment; I'm not sure how you manage to boot from the external card, and whether you could lose that ability by overwriting the internal memory and hope it would boot...
