I leave mine on permanently, flip it keys down so it forms the base of triangle thus providing a stable flat surface for the kick stand when on my lap; if I want to hold it like a tablet or lay it flat to write on, I fold the kickstand and fold the keyboard flat against the back.
I do have a sleeve-type thing for when I'm travelling (with a handy external pocket to chuck in the charger and few other bits pieces), otherwise the SP3 + its keyboard cover just go in my bag as is.
