Just wanted to say thanks for the tutorial. With a bit of learning as i went I was able to follow this and jailbreak my PW2. I know its an old thread, but its the response that comes up when you google for a PW2 jailbreak.
Instead of installing python, I converted the script to javascript and hosted it online at
Kindle Paperwhite 2 root password and also made a .Net program (attached).
