(oh, and yes, my washing machine is working again now, meaning i replaced the one plastic beater which had broken completely off. of course, when i did that, i discovered that the other two plastic beaters were about to break off, the clips on one side are already broken and they are only hanging on by the other side.  so my 700 socks are clean at least.  that reminds me i should perhaps go start a machine... you have to wear so many clothes in wintertime !!)

We had just bought this 90 year old home that we live in. It has the oldest in-ground pool in town. So, to dig it up and put n a flower bed would have been considered sacriledge (sp?) so I was trying to get it to clear itself. At that time there was an onld, manky hurrican fence around it covered with jungle-like grape vines that made for about a foot clearance in one spot to walk around. Well, I was walking around it, dumping toxic chemicals into it, and slipped and in I went. The Palm and the pager from work were both dead. I mourned the Palm.
