Hmmm . . . . I don't see why it wouldn't work on hardbacks, too. If you still have the dustjacket (I always keep mine) for a book, you will have an ISBN barcode that you can scan, right? A large percentage of the dead-tree books that I own are older and were pre-owned (sounds better than "used," doesn't it?), and the dustjackets have been long gone. However, many of those are new enough to have ISBN's (ISBN10's), and they were printed on the inside when the books were published; it looks like there would be a way to key in those numbers, in lieu of scanning barcodes.

The more difficult situation would be older books which were published before the use of ISBN numbers. However--and I may be wrong here--I think that some official organization has gone back and assigned ISBN numbers to some of them. If that's so, it should be possible to look up the ISBN numbers somewhere.

Would you explain what Corfu is? I Googled it, but all that I saw was stuff about the Greek island by that name.
