pngshow currently has only one mode of updating the display, whereas pickel has two (showpic and showpic 1 or whatever). It wasn't made with animations in mind. There may be less noise on the display if you use pure 1 bit black+white imagery (that covers the full screen).

I might make pngshow more powerful in the future…
Thank you for the ninja'd links. So it is at least somehow related to Japanese super heros.
I think for now I leave it with the noise, and wait for the more powerful version. Otherwise I would have to provide images in different sizes for each model. Right?
