Update: For all major OS (Linux, {don't know about Windows}, OSX), I have workaround for this but I thought something as straightforward as when you plug your monitor to laptop and extend the desktop would be neat... But I guess, it's not viable.

Has anyone thought about using Kindle as a 2nd monitor in this context? :

When you connect a second monitor to your laptop by VGA/HDMI cable, you can make it as an expansion of your desktop estate instead of just duplicating what's on the laptop screen. Possible (theoretically / practically)?
