Recover after interrupted download

I have bought a book on the Kobo store and my Kobo was downloading it. Unfortunately, my WiFi router rebooted in the middle of the synchronization. Now I see the book in my library, but if I open it my Kobo will freeze and reboot after a while. I have removed the book and sync'ed again, but the problem is still there.

I suppose the DB is not exactly corrupted but its state is somehow wrong. Is there something that I can do to resolve this situation?

I haven't contacted yet the official helpdesk because their always refuse to provide any help if you don't do a factory reset first, and I would like to avoid that (I have done too many, way too many factory resets).
