A credit card will not open it, and a sharpened knife (very carefully inserted) will also not open the bevel. (I'm afraid to push any further on it.)
I'm going to buy a guitar pick and try that. I want to minimize any cosmetic damage, if possible.
I'll let everyone know what transpires....
