Numerous pieces of consumer technology come in multiply-updated models. It is not entirely unlike buying an "iPhone" and getting upset when it turns out you paid $700 for the iPhone 3G...
Although a better comparison would be buying an "iPhone" and complaining when it turned out to be the iPhone 5S instead of the iPhone 6.
