About the battery issue, I actually had my Kobo Glo one year before I purchased the Kobo Aura HD, and the Glo exhibits none of this.

Also, the Kobo Aura HD seems to take a charge very well, and lasts for a week or so (heavy use). This was before I decided not to read on it anymore.

Nevertheless, perhaps you're right: The battery may be the culprit.
