You'd probably want to have it set to 'Never check for updates' as well or errors might pop up.

It was the registration that was my concern, Kenny. On previous versions of Windows it's been possible to register by phone, but I don't know if that's still possible.
One option would, I suppose, be for me to register it and then take it to my Dad's house.
