My mum and dad are in their 80s, and do not have or want Internet access. My dad, though, has asked me for advice on buying a laptop computer because he wants to use it to write with. The hardware side of things isn't a problem, but does anyone know if Windows 10 can be used without an Internet connection? Both for initial registration and for ongoing use?
Thanks,

The system may need some work so they don't get warnings and errors over time about programs/utilities needing updates and so forth. Store bought systems typically come with some amount of trial ware (AV, Office, etc...) that may start nagging after a while so all that should be cleared off ahead of time if possible. Buying a Signature edition from Microsoft (physical store or online) can help cut down on a lot of this and generally runs better than store bought PCs.
