This is one that I would much prefer to listen to than read. Unfortunately, even the Whispersync deal ($14.98) for this title costs much more than I'm willing to pay. I suppose for now I'll satisfy some of my curiosity by reading whatever Wikipedia has about the story.
This does look like it would be a very interesting book. It tells about an event in America that was pretty significant, yet I knew nothing about. In the past I have associated John Jacob Astor with the business (grocery, I think) that he nurtured into a huge enterprise, making him fabulously wealthy. Too, I remember that he was one of the unfortunate souls to have been on the
Titanic's maiden voyage. Sadly, he was one who didn't survive.
