I felt the same way, until I did the math replacing software vs renting it over a three year period. I generally don't replace sw every three years, but, the cost of Office is mind-numbing when you finally decide to do it.

Renting 365 Personal was $69.99+tax/year vs. $400 for the same bundle (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access). So over a 6 year period, it's cheaper to rent, have it automatically updated and supported, than to buy.
