That makes sense to me, because I waited 1-2 hours while it was stuck in the loop, hoping it would just fix itself.

Before I pressed the pin I tried restarting from the top button, but that didn't seem to do anything. If I held it down for over ~15 seconds then the blinking light would become solid instead of blinking, but right after releasing it it would start blinking again.

Everything seems to be working fine now, including the sickel patch (I coincidentally didn't use Geoff's version for that).
