First, use it as a second monitor of the laptop. Two steps:
Step One, install a VNC server-- TightVNC in my laptop
Step Two, install a VNC viewer-- bVNC from google play in my M96C
Comments:
1, I want to thank Feher et al.
(
https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=173792) for the programs for
M92 as a second monitor, without the experience on M92, I would not have done
it so fast on M96C.
2. About the above Step One, you may install any other VNC server. But I did
not try any other VNC server personally.
3. About the above Step Two for the VNC view, I tried several ways, and ended
up this app.
a) The previous M92 VNC viewer requires a Java SE, and I could not find one
for M96c. So it did not work for me.
b) I tried two other VNC viewers from google play, and found out this bVNC
viewer runs the fastest.
c) I had to google a picture of the setup page, becauce I could not see the
setup page in my M96 clearly.
4. Using experience:
a) It's much more stable. In M92, I have to connect to the PC by USB wire, and
the wire broke from time to time. Now, the connection is wi-fi, so it's much
more stable.
b) The speed is bearable for me. Though not fastisfactory, it's being used
for most of my typing, including this post.
c) I can tap the M96C screen to move the mouse. So I also use it for internet
browsing. But the touch screen is not very precise, so it's hard to do things
such as selecting texts, or resizing a window.
