Actually, more ram or a 64-bit Calibre might not be needed. The best way to convert KF8 (AZW3) > ePub is not to convert at all but to code shift using the KindleUnpack plugin. Once the code is shifted to ePub, use the editor to validate and fix anything that is flagged as an error. Once that's done you can either save and be done or from there make any changes you want. This is the best way to go from KF8 > ePub.
