I'm fairly sure the file is correct. The third try without the card passed the upgrade so the card's content is the likely culprit (card is 32GB with from 3 to 6GB of mostly epubs on it.)

Thanks for the kind words. Well now I'm going for a clean slate approach as I have everything in Calibre anyway. I've formatted the card, I'll repopulate it step by step and see how it goes.

At least I'm lucky in that I just finished a book yesterday evening and haven't started the next one yet.
