It was more a "defense of the revenue stream" by a corporate giant than an attack on any specific target.
I think the Duokan Store was what made the sleeping giant get serious, not our fonts and screensavers hacks.

I unintentially once woke a sleeping giant myself (Hormel Foods).
Learned just a little bit about how defensive they can be first-hand.
