Trust your eyeballs first. If the item (link, unsolicited attachment) looks fishy, you will not need the smell attachment (WD) in the first place.

I always look at the link code (on the status line). Obscured (or hidden by a tinyURL) and I need to think about where the link came from (Just because my sister sent it... She got hacked . I also knew something the scammer did not ) .

Unfortunately, there is now drive by (hover) malicious code, so some protetcion is still needed.
