Unhappy Glo HD - loaded a title onto the reader and suddenly it's in in some kind of loop

I've had no issues at all until now. The reader is 3-4 months old and has worked flawlessly until now. Today I tried loading a CBZ file (a supported format) which I've done several times in the past. After disconnecting my reader from the computer, I selected the book to read. Then it just stopped responding to anything I do and keeps making this loop. I've tried holding the button at the top, I've tried pressing the little reset on the bottom, I've tried holding the reset, nothing I do seems to be making any difference at all. At this point all I can think of is to let the battery die and try to connect again after that.

As for the file, it's a standard CBZ file, which is a folder with a series of image files (if you are unaware CBZ is a format used for reading comics and manga). The only thing that makes this different from any other book or CBZ/CBR file I've used before is that it and the folder inside have filenames with Japanese characters. This is the only thing I can think of that could begin to account for this problem.

I can share the problem file if it it would help and if it wouldn't break any rules (it's an untranslated manga), and I made a short video to demonstrate exactly what is happening: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U7K-Y8wJIVs

Has anyone seen this before? Nothing I've tried is breaking the loop.
