I got my Kobo Glo HD two or three weeks ago with firmware 3.14. I replaced the internal microSD right away with a 16 GB card by using
The Magic Memory Upgrade Mod. Immediately afterwards, I installed KSM07 Update 4 and copied koreader and vlasovsoft directories to .adds. I couldn't activate my Kobo Glo HD with the corresponding ksm script because the Kobo Glo HD database doesn't contain any user entry (other Kobo readers seems to come with exactly one user entry the script is looking for before it adds a second one to activate the reader). I added an user entry in the database myself. I was then able to update my reader to 3.15 and 3.16 respectively and could also download all dictionaries. I re-installed KSM07, started nickel, connected my Glo HD to a computer and started to copy some epubs:
1. Adobe Digital Editions -> works okay; after disconnecting the Kobo Glo HD database is updated -> no corruption
2. side-loading books to a (hidden) folder -> works okay; after disconnection the database is updated, books not in hidden folders are added -> no corruption
3. calibre (Kobo Touch Driver plugin) -> seems to work; after disconnection the database is updated, books are missing from shelves -> database corruption (this reliably happens every time when using calibre after connecting from nickel)
I replaced the database with a good backup database file. And connected the Glo HD now from KSM with usb_enable.sh. Copied some books with calibre, disconnected the reader, opened nickel (new books not yet in library/shelves), toggled usb (simulating connecting by usb and then disconnecting) -> database is updated, all new books show up -> no database corruption.
