PS: Is this the kindle that had its serial port connected directly to the PC's high voltage com port?
If it is, then the chances that the Kindle's serial port is bad is very real.
it is another pw.(new)

This set-up of a low voltage serial port is something that works for everyone else in the world, except you.
yes . I know.
Everything i touch turns to shit!!

but i exactly listen to you and work as you say.
i check and check. again and again. but no luck.

i put kindle aside and test adapter.
jumper tx -> rx
i gave 1v8 to pin 4 and tested it by a terminal : there wasn't any receive and transmit.
then i back it to it's default mode (connect pin 4 to board = 3v3) and jumper tx and rx and i tested and saw receive and transmit were successful.

then i decided to make a level shifter. i made a level shifter whit one 1n4148 and two 3k3 resistors and one simple Red LED as geekmaster said in his thread.
i checked rx and tx's voltage whit a voltmeter and i got 1.67.

then i connected rx and tx to each other and tested it by terminal but no receive and transmit.

As you said this works for every one in the world but for me it is a problem
