You might want to try removing the Kobo and other devices from device manager and then reconnecting them. Easiest way is to use Nirsoft's USBDeview. My preferred alternative is the batch file attached to this message. Copy the file inside the .zip file (showhiddendevices.cmd) to your desktop, right click and run as administrator, select show hidden devices from the View menu. Look for Kobo devices under the Portable Devices item. Remove any greyed out items under that item and then any greyed out items (USB Mass Storage Device for example) under the Universal Serial Bus Controllers item.

This was an issue on one laptop we upgraded to Windows 10 during testing and several drivers either didn't upgrade or were left in an unknown condition.
