It's not more precise it's basically exactly the same as your finger it's interacting with the screen in exactly the same way.
With the S-Pen/Wacom type you can also see a small cursor (almost just a little dot) when you are hovering it close to the screen that means you can judge the position it lands down to the pixel, they also have a small button on the side that can perform a different function depending on what you are doing.
I can see how capacitive stylus might be handy for keeping your screen clean or just clicking links or similar but they don't really compare very well and I bought a few reasonably expensive ones in the hopes they would.
Tried to find a link to show the differences but there actually isn't many comparisons
