I can select ru, independent whether there is actually a trans_ru.qm on the device or not (I did not try with a broken trans_ru.qm however).

I do not see this issue with FW 3.16.10. I made the qm with Qt 5.4, but I do not think that this makes a difference, since I used different Qt versions in the past (of course testing on slightly older Kobo FWs).

I guess we owe this change to the initiative of george.talusan. Thank you Mr george.talusan! (I do not think he is following this thread however!)
