What is root cause I am scratching my head, I can do day long computer programming and at-least 2 hours continuously without a break and no headache but when i read from phone eye strain would begin just after 30 minute, i wonder its the LCD screen, reading posture or screen distance.
It could be a number of things that make it easier for you to use your computer screen. All these questions are about your computer screen and use.

What type of screen is it? Most are LCD.

Is your screen shiny or is it an anti glare screen?

Is the room well lit or dark?

What is your brightness level set to?

What font do you use, and how large is your font size?

What color is your background and what color is your font?

What is the screen resolution?

If you compare all these to how you have your phone set up you may find your answer.
