The sleepcover doesn't override the normal sleep settings.
On my Mini, "Sleep Cover Settings" have gone.

But I solved the issue by setting SleepAccessoryEnabled=false in Kobo eReader.conf


IMO, battery drain is caused by spuriously triggered sleep cover wakeups, e.g. due to vibration / shock when carrying the Kobo in my bike bags which might additionally cause a lot of page flips. But it's not _heavy_ battery drain - I guess it was around 3..5% extra per day.
