I'll give that utility a try. I'm using windows 7, fully up to date on patches. I use the windows file explorer to try to delete the archives which are in .rar format.
I can do anything with the files, including deleting them, but once I use Calibre on them, they are locked until I load another .rar or close Calibre.
The actual error I get in Windows file explorer is:
File in use. The action can't be completed because the file is open in calibre worker process. Close the file and try again.
