The Fourth Quill by Toby Johnson (ISFDB, Wikipedia) is a revised reworking of his vintage 1980s-era AIDS crisis bioweapons technothriller (written before the origins of the disease were understood), Plague: A Novel About Healing, now recasting it as a speculative parallel universe tale with extra spiritual insights to go with the action, free courtesy of LGBT specialty publisher Lethe Press (Wikipedia), who are reprinting it from its 1987 version originally out from LGBT specialty publisher Alyson Books (Wikipedia).
