As an alternative to calibre you could also use "Kindle Previewer" by Amazon. Convert your book to ePub, embed fonts, and drag&drop your ePub to Kindle Previewer. Il will create a "double format" mobi (containing both plain mobi6 and enriched mobi8 versions).
I think he/she already did that. The problem is the font comes out with poor-spacing, or something, in the az3.
