This is really very nifty, with surprisingly fun stuff about the increasing prominence of the -y suffix in
BuffySpeak-esque modern English, the potential long-term effects of early Neanderthal co-existence, explorations of formal logic, and a Shakespearean parody of the recent Scottish referendum, a philosophy of vampirism, etc.

academic freebies, and this is like a mini-microcosm of a whole bunch of them because apparently a whole bunch of these collected blogposts were originally promo-boosting teaser tie-ins to assorted OUP books by the authors to begin with, which makes this a bit of a glorified introductory sampler to stuff I might want to track down and read, but in a good way (and not that stingy repackaged chapter excerpt way).
