Things get better over time, as a general rule of thumb. In order to remain competitive, you have to... well, compete.

nook HD is still my favorite tablet for watching video, beautiful screen, lightweight. nook ST is still my favorite e-ink device. They did hardware right until their last e-ink device and giving out control of their newest tablet, they were not great with software, and incomprehensible the way they failed with their online ebooks.
