It's a crack, and it on the bottom/inner side of the light-guide layer. So no way & no access to manipulate it.
I'll just have to live with it until I manage to save-up about 200 euros (import/custom fees here are very very high) for a new Paperwhite. Being un-employed ex-student it will take some time
