I am guessing that you are using an LCD tablet. Just like computers they have always been known for causing eye strain over time. My solution is to do most of my reading on an Android eink device. I use Moon+ Pro which syncs my reading spot across my devices so that I can open my book in any of my eink devices, my Android tablet or my smartphones and continue reading from where I left off.

Sorry, I can't answer your initial question about anti glare screens. I have used them because of the sun but never thought about a possible reading benefit..........Jackie
