Nonsense. Nicknames are proper nouns, not brand names. Where they appear on top of the avatar, they may be considered as a "title" and stylistic liberty applies, but in real sentences they should be subject to common grammar/spelling rules, so Bordovy, Pdurrant, et al., I'm sorry but you shall be capitalized, first word or not
Personally, I'm more offended by being called "Jelby" (one ell) than "jellby" (lowercase).
