Yes. That is exactly what I do for testing the various cloud providers. There is no need to point calibre at that library until (if and when) you decide that it is your production library.

Be sure that you copy the root folder so that the calibre library is in a subfolder. CC won't be happy if the metadata.db file is in the cloud root folder. It is also hard to imagine why you would want that.
