As much as I love Amazon and their ebook ecosystem in general, their kid related features have never grabbed me. I looked into them briefly, and after about 60 seconds decided it wasn't worth my time or effort.

So for my kids I do either of two things:

1. My kids Kindles (pw and fires) are tied to a single Amazon account I set up just for them.
If there is stuff they want, they show me, I enter the purchase password, and it's available on all their devices.

2. Most of what I get is freed from DRM and stored in my Calibre library, so if I want to give them something, I just side load it through any of the various methods available.
