Thanks for the explaination and the suggestions
I build a command line in a VBS script to convert and export epubs and to azw3s to a single flat folder
My current 'plan' is to redirect the list of IDs to a temp file, read that in and construct a export command line
My fallback will be chaley's (not charley's) indeed ugly command
