I'm sorry that you're having the difficulty. To others reading this: did any of you have the same problem?
I had not downloaded my audio and video, yet, so I went ahead and tried. It worked. The videos appeared in "My Library." I started playing one of them.
Since I already have an account, I can't replicate what you did. I would suggest this possible workaround, if all else fails: go to the
The Great Courses website. Sign up for an account. Return to
the website that I gave in the initial post for the free lectures, and try obtaining the audios and/or videos as an account holder. The way to do that is to click on the link that says "existing customer?," in the box where you provide your information, and go from there.
I caught your characterization of the lectures as "samples." ha. The Great Courses does give free samples, different ones each month, in fact. These present ones differ in that 1) there are more than one lecture of the same course, and 2) the lectures that they have selected seem to fit together well, making a unified whole (versus having some just randomly thrown together); it seems to serve well as a mini-course on the subject.
Good luck.
