The "Apple Pay" service launched today in the UK, the first country outside the USA in which the service has been made available. it allows users of modern Apple devices such as the iPhone 6 and iPad 3 to register credit or debit cards on their device and then make a payment of up to £20 simply by tapping the device against a reader. As yet, only a small number of British banks and card issuers have signed up for the service, although many more have indicated that they'll do so within the next few months.
