I've had my Paperwhite 2 for well over a year and about 2 weeks ago I noticed a black line at the bottom of the screen. I've never noticed it before. I can see it while at a normal reading angle but just barely. If I look down on it I see more of it.
At the time I wondered if it had been there all along and I never noticed it before. It's not particularly noticeable. But I've looked the thing over carefully more than once and I'm fairly sure I would have noticed it. It occurred to me that it might be there after the last update.
The line I see looks very much like a black line on the very bottom of the screen and not something below the screen. It's down far enough, nearly out of sight, that I can't be 100% sure of that but that is what it looks like.
I don't think I'm going to worry about it.
