Back to the original point, though, I'm sure that it is the (real or otherwise) similarity between "The Sword of Shannara" and LOTR that was at least partially responsible for the decision to start the TV series with "Elfstones", and I think that was a good decision to make. "Elfstones" is a very good book indeed.
